  1. This is a question for an advanced Windows XP user. I have medium experience.

I have a Compro U500 USB DVB Tuner. It was working fine until I decided to reformat my PC with a nLited XP installation for convenience. Unfortunately I suspect I have taken out a vital component/service of Windows, since when I install the Compro drivers they no longer find the USB DVB device. Once I install the Compro drivers I get the message 'device not found'.

I know one can add missing components/services back into XP from the original CD with a little bit of work. I had to to expand sapi5.inf from the full XP CD to get my Text to Speech working on this Windows nLite installation.

Does anyone know what I need do? Thanks for your consideration.

I know nothing about Compro U500 USB DVB Tuner drivers but when you wipe and reinstall Windows you also need to reinstall all the motherboard drivers (including the USB2 port driver) before the Compro drivers have a connection to USB2.

  3. All the MB drivers were installed I believe. Will double check. The USB controllers all seem to be there in Device Manager.

Did you reinstall DirectX 9 and DirectX runtime?

A tuner would also need WDM from the graphics card drivers.

  5. I just wish to finish by saying that a repair install of the Compro drivers within Device Manager appears to have solved the problem. Cheers EdDV & thanks.
