How much ram is vista using?, I tried to test vista in my home computer, and 1 gigabyte of ram was not enough to run other some applications.

I have just installed Windows Vista Ultimate.

VLC Media Player , audio works but no video just a white blank space.

Media Player Classic, no problems so far.

Latest ffdshow tryout revision 858, no problems so far with XviD, AVC/H264.

and no it's not worth upgrading....I'm just testing it...I'm dual booting back to XP now.

Vista Home Premium here on a new laptop with 1 gig RAM and
    Intel Core Duo 1.73 GHz.
DVDShrink, DVDDecrypter, and DVDFab Decrypter all work well.

I'll be upgrading to Ultimate and 2 gig RAM soon.

AVG antivirus seems to work fine with Vista.

This seems to be a fairly complete compatibility list, though I have no idea about it's accuracy: http://www.iexbeta.com/wiki/index.php/Windows_Vista_Software_Compatibility_List

So far I have had less problems with Vista compatibility than I had with XP64 when it first came out.

Does it matter if it's compatible. Vista is 10-24% slower on transcodeing DVD than XP. Look at Tom's Hardware. I installed Vista RC1 on a computer and it lost at least 10% speed compared to XP. Most sites are reporting it's single application performance to be slower.
