  1. Hello, I am new here, but I am a far cry from a video n00b... The reason I signed up was because I wanted to ask a question about a weird idea I had the other day. I have a couple of music videos saved to my hard drive in VOB format. They are in 1080 High Definition format. I also have a upscaling DVD Player (Samsung DVD-HD850) It gives an awesome picture in my opinion. I want to know if I can burn these VOBs in the format they are on my hard drive and play them on my DVD player, Is it possible, has it been done, and if it has where can I find a guide on how to burn it...

    Thanks

  2. No, they have to be scaled down and re-encoded to DVD-Video compliant MPEG2 (720x480 max for NTSC) in order to be authored to DVD. There may be some DVD players out there that can play raw MPEG2 files (even 1080 size) on a data disc, though. I don't know if the 850 can do that.
