    Hey All,

I am currently using Vegas 7 to make a home movie, finding my way round it is pretty straight forward, ie setting up a intro to movie with still pics extra, extra.
Now comes to adding my video content from DV Cam. I have set up using SV Capture 6 all works fine, just that the problem is.... it seems to split up the captured film into 3 files/chunks rather than one piece, now the DV piece i am using is my daughter talking, when you add these to the timeline each piece does not match with audio continuity. This speech is only 1.5 mins long.

I have found in the help section of SV Capture 6 this:
Video Capture will create multiple files if it detects scene changes or when the operating system file size limit is reached (4 GB under FAT32 disks).
(I Have no scene changes/and file is under 4GB).

I have used pinnacle and ulead before and the captured file is whatever length/size you want rather than splitting it up in to various sized chunks as with Vegas Capture 6 is there something I have over looked in the set-up of SV Capture 6???

    cheers in advance

PS. is the easy way out D/Ling WinDV for capture?

It only does that if you ask it to in Vegas preferences.

If all you want is a straight transfer to a single file use WinDV and the import that into Vegas.

thanks for the input edDV, had been messing with the preferences, to see what worked best.

Just found under disk management tab - it has max size per dv clip selected at 640mb I unticked and my piece came out as 1 file! Nice...

BTW the 1 piece file was only 382mb, so why the smaller files, they where not even equal sizes/lenghts....?? ummmm

    Cheers

WinDV doesn't provide all the preference options so it comes out as standard DV easily. I have no way to figure out your preference tweaks. I also haven't upgraded to Vegas 7. Nothing there that I needed.
