this is my first post. hope i'm doing this right.
question... I would like to know if anyone has tried capturing video through vegas. specifically from a vcr through a hauppauge hvr-1800. i am having issues with the program recognising my hauppauge card. or should i skip the program and capture the video another way. if so what is the best way to do so to retain the highest quality and to avoid having to convert to another format.
thanks.

I have a similar HVR-1600. Normally you capture video to hardware encoded MPeg2 using the Hauppauge WinTV software. The new WinTV version 7 is a big improvement. Vegas will not see this card.
