I Have NEC3540A, latest riplock flash, latest DVDDECRYPTER.

I can not rip anything faster that 1.2. It takes hour and half to back up movie.

Like I said I installed riplock and tried setting read speed (in dvdecrypter) to

12X and also MAX. Still can not get it to read faster than 1.2.

    Seems to burn fine/fast.

    Thanks!

It is SLOW no matter what commercial media I use.

The problem I am having is RIPPING, not burning.

Enabled DMA on harddrive (not nec3540a). Could not find
where to do it with DVD drive, if that is at all possible.

Fastest I can rip now is about 2.2 - 2.3x

Have you tried more than one title? Also, DL media is much slower to RIP and SL media.

It could also be a bad or incorrect firmware hack.

I've had mine do that every now and again for no reason and then the next day everything is back to normal.I'm not sure if it's a defrag issue. The only thing that changes was a computer restart.

Disc quality is also a factor. A disc with scratches and swirls from cleaning, frequently won't RIP as fast a new disc.
