Hello, I am looking for the best way to use a Windows Media Center PC as a DVR for a regular DISH box. The DISH receiver is NOT an HD receiver and does NOT have a built in DVR. Knowing the Media Center PC's have a TV card in the back which takes in an RG6/Coax connection I am assuming I can take the cable from the wall into my DISH receiver IN and then plug another cable from the DISH receiver OUT to the Media Center PC TV IN Card and then TV OUT another cable to the TV. I think I can also use an IR sensor over top of the DISH receiver sensor to allow me to change channels via the Media Center remote. Now all of this is conceptual and wanted to find out if any of the experts have succeeded in completing a configuration like this. I am pretty sure this is a standard config from Microsoft for their Media Centers...the question is does it work and is there a better way? Thanks in advance for the help.
