Hi, I have a few questions here.. first of all, how do I get ffdshow off my computer.. in intentionaly uninstalled it a few months ago, but now it is back.. I have installed a number of different encoders and authoring programs, trying to find which I liked best and it probably came from one of those, but I cant find it.. or should I leave it .. most of the programs seem to use it for previews..

another question.. is it better to merge 2 avi files together before encoding to dvd.. or does it make any difference if Im using Cucusoft avi to dvd converter to merge the files into dvd.. Also is cucusoft anygood? I didnt really want to use it, but its the only one I have that merges avi files - could anyone recommend something else. I am a noob to this, but dont like noob software, as I never learn what Im doing if its all done for me without much control.. also I want quality encoding..

I had other questions, but now I forgot.. ohh well.. any input would be appreciated.. thanks..

    1. Search for ffdshow with windows explorer. then run the unist000.exe in the ffdshow folder.
    2. Don't merge, it often cause sync problems and other problems. use instead convertxtodvd and add both avis and convert to dvd. Or if you want control read a guide like https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?guideid=710&howtoselect=4;10#710 .

thanks for the info, I wasnt sure about convertx because I thought it might output it to two different dvd folders.. as far as ffdshow, I already did a search, but it only came up with one file in my system32 folder (ffpshow.ax)

    cheers!
