Most DVD players have a headphone jack. You can goto Radio Shack and see about getting one of these: You can then connect a set of Headphones to your DVD player.

a lot of dvd players do not have head phone out - but your receiver might --

a cheap way to listen to dvd via headphones is to use a cheap set of computer speakers that headphone jacks (ive seen some for 20$) and plug it into the output of the dvd player (may need a rca to minijack converter which you can also get at radio shack or walmart)

Two out of three of mine don't - but then they are cheapo units.

Without a dedicated headphone jack, you'll need to use the audio jacks and send the signal through some sort of amplifier, e.g. http://www.youdoitelectronics.com/id559.htm or some cheap PC speakers with a headphone connection.
