Is there anway to attach headphones to a dvd player? Like the Philps DVP 5140 ? If so what connection and do I need to add the special connector to the end of the headphones before connecting it ? Do I need to change anything ont he dvd player setup [age as well ?

Most DVD players have a headphone jack. You can goto Radio Shack and see about getting one of these: You can then connect a set of Headphones to your DVD player.

a lot of dvd players do not have head phone out - but your receiver might --
