im trying to burn a dvd but when i try to burn it says its not a enough free space on the disc it says 4.38 gb r available and 4.43 gb r needed. could it also be that the file is a long file its 2hr 40min. so what i need is a way to burn this file to a dvd as a dvd video.

What application are you using to create the video DVD? If it is Toast 7 just choose Save as Disc Image, then when that is created select it with the Image File setting in the Copy window and Toast will do additional compression when you click the burn button so it will fit a single-layer disc.
