I copied a TV programme to DVD on my DVD recorder and then copied the files to disk on my Mac ( the VIDEO_TS and VIDEO_RM folders). The disk doesn't automatically load from the DVD player application on my Mac, and also on the DVD player. On the DVD player I cannot open the Title list but on the Mac I can open it manually and play the movie.

I seem to have all the files in the VIDEO_TS folder, and it matches another film I made on the DVD player. I must have corrupted/erased something that automatically open the movie. Any advice?

What media was used ... - or + ... some players dont take kindly to + ... or just wont touch it at all

    Video_ts contains vobs , ifo's and bup's ... check ifo for title number exists ... ie ... vts_01_1.vob + vts_01_1.ifo
Video_rm ... ram , dont know , possible your recorder create's this folder incase of dvd-ram inserted .

Check your manual for the recorder , and make sure it can be set to video mode only , and if it dose support dvd-ram as a possible storage format ... check if this can be disabled ... if it exists , but cannot be disabled ... never use this type of media .

If the files are on the mac , and nothing exists in the video_rm folder , rename that folder to audio_ts .

Try the playback on mac ... if fine , burn to dvd-r ...

    Normally dvd contains :

    Video_ts (vob's , ifo's , bup's)
    Audio_ts ... empty

Thanks Bjs: This information is useful but what do I need to make the video open automatically in DVD Player (on the Mac) when the disk is loaded up? I have the following files in the VIDEO_TS folder:

    VIDEO_TS.IFO
    VIDEO_TS.VOB
    VTS_01_0.BUP
    VTS_01_1.VOB
    VTS_01_2.VOB
    VTS_01_3.VOB
    VTS_01_4.VOB

and the VIDEO_RM folder doesn't seem to have any effect - with or without its files or changing the folder name to AUDIO_TS.
