Use Autogk, open avi, set the output file size to 699MB. Encode. Done.

Well according to your computer specs you wonder why it took 7 hour's ???

Get rid of ffdshow ... you'll find vdub will process the file in half the time it's now taking you to perform this task .

Something I came across when frameserving ... ffdshow increased the time by 2 .

I too, have a file , it is 704MB (won't fit onto a cd). I looked at some of the comments about AutoGK.. and it says there's some problems with spyware? I'd rather not take my chances, so are there any other programs that I can resize my file to around 699MB or so?

Why not just trim 4Mb off of the file? Closing credits or maybe you can overburn? That depends on the burner.

Optionally, if you have a slightly oversize file and need to burn it to CD. Convert it to a BIN/CUE or ISO and you can burn it as Mode 2 with a program like Nero. That mode eliminates the error checking and saves quite a bit of CD space. You don't need error checking for video anyway. That way, you can put at least 830MB on a regular 700MB CD without overburning. This is common with SVCDs. I did quite a few at 830MB with no playback problems.

That was long ago, many versions ago. Don't let that stop you from trying out a very fine program.
