For ripping DVD Decrypter can still be used in conjunction with ripit4me. I still use it for burning. But a lot of other people prefer imgburn, so you may want to check that out if all you're concerned about is burning.

  3. This all free setup has not failed me yet...

    =
RipIt4Me (Use the latest "Installer" file found on their website. It includes the latest FixVTS which is a required component)

    DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0

DVDShrink 3.2.0.15 with the "Burn with ImgBurn" modification

    ImgBurn

RipIt4Me will automate the process of using DVD Decrypter, FixVTS, and DVDShrink to back-up a DVD. DVDShrink will then burn with ImgBurn. This setup will also automatically search for updates for each program and notify you if any are needed.
