Hey guys recenlty i have trying to convert some AVI to make a dvd but when converting the AVI to MPG the sound dissappears, now this is only happening with certain AVI files,

I am using TMPGEnc Xpress to convert to MPG then TMPGEnc DVD author to make the VOB,

Identify the audio in the avis that it doesn't work with. Use for example gspot, mediainfo,avi2clipboard.

If ac3 audio you can just strip it from the avi with virtualdubmod, stream->stream list->demux. Then convert the as usual but in tmpgenc dvd author load the separate ac3 as audio source.

If any any audio you can convert it directly from the avi to ac3 with ffmpeggui. THen convert as usual but in tmpgenc dvd author load the ac3 file as audio source.

If you are doing any framerate conversion this might not work that well though....

DEMUX the audio from the AVI file using the program AVIDemux.

Only convert the video with TMPGEnc Xpress and then use the video file it creates with the AC-3 audio file you demuxed from the original AVI when you go to the authoring stage i.e., TMPGEnc DVD Author.
