I want to convert MKV files into a format readable on my Philips DVP-642 DVD player, but WINAVI Converter doesn't do the subtitles.
Is the any way to fix this problem?

lol I was just about to put a post up asking this same thing.
I know how to do this as its just changing the container, but Baldrick quick Q for you, or for anyone else whom may know.
I have MKV files with 2 audio layers and a sub layer. Is there anyway at all of having a dual channel audio and single channel sub divx on my phillips DVP642? Or at least have the option of picking a dif audio channel or sub channel?
For OP this program seems to do what we need it do though I have yet to try it.

Maybe remove audio streams with mkvextractgui or something.

Left audio and sub settings at default and ran, takes around 6-8 mins on my PC to convert 1 file. My PC is now 5yrs old 2.4Ghz P4, with 512 RDRAM, so with newer PC's im assuming it will be MUCH faster.
