My dvd writer is TDK-DVDRW880N, and although I've installed the latest firmware, it still keeps giving me this error.

"failed to start disc-at-once". I've attached the log for more info.

The disc type is DVD -R. I've always used this type of disc in the past, but for some reason now it's not working. I tried burning CDs and it works.. only DVDs they are giving me this error message.

    Help is very appreciated!

    Dosent look right ...

The drive is reported as "usb" ... is it in an external case ?
Make sure the correct bios is used for the unit ... be very specific .
The media may just be a bad batch .

Determine maximum speed : FALSE = fine
    Simulate : FALSE = fine
    Write : TRUE = fine

    Why ?

    Finalize CD : FALSE
    Multisession : TRUE
    Multisession type: : Start multisession

    When

    Book Type: DVD-R
Last possible write address on media: 2298495 (510:46.45, 4489MB)

Dvd should be closed ... not done in multisetion mode ?

    Prior to bailout :

    End Sector Number in Layer 0: 0 h (LBN: FFFD0000 h, 4193920 MB) <<< not right .
(suggests you jammed 892+ dvd-r's into drive at the same time)

The media / batch is dud .

Before getting another batch or brand ... run imgburn as a test run ... it's even possible nero stuffed up or needs to be totally uninstalled using nero's clean out tools , reboot , and reinstall to fix .
