I am converting movie trailers from Quicktime to MPEG to burn them to a DVD. I have had a few roadblocks along the way, but you guys have REALLY helped me, both by my searching for posts or the couple of times I posted a question myself. So, I have to say a big thank you!
However, I have one problem left and I have completely run out of ideas.
Almost all of the trailers are converted with much lower volume than the original file, at least a 10 dB drop in levels on most files. Only one hasn't had this happen to it. I am converting these using a combination of QuickTimeAlternative, AVISynth, and CCE.
I have tried using AVISynth's Normalize function, but that ends up producing a muddy sound that I do not like. I have tried using the Amplify, but it's a trial and error method that takes a few passes to work right. Is there anything else I can do to have the converters leave the audio levels alone?
Thanks,
Scott
