I currently got a LaCie dvd burner for my mac. I have been burning dvd's to DVD+R DL. I use

Toast 7 to burn and Mac The Ripper to rip the dvd's. When i burn the dvd's to DL they work like

regular dvd's on a computer. But they don't work on my standard dvd player. My question is, Is

there any standard home DVD player that will play DVD+R DL burned from a computer? I bought

a dvd player that says it will play dvd+R dl but not burned from a computer. Any help would be

    awesome.

My old Pioneer DVR-510H-S DVD recorder plays Verbatim DVD+R DL discs burned on my Mac even though it was manufactured before there were any DL-burnable discs. So my guess is that many will play those. From what I've read I won''t use any DL media other than the Verbatim's.

However, I did burn one for a client and he said the audio play back was messed up on his DVD player (don't know the brand of player). It worked perfectly on mine. I guess you need to take a disc to a dealer and ask them to try it out.

Also not to state the obvious but make sure you're burning the discs as UDF format (and with the right folder structure), not "Mac" or "Mac + PC" .. those formats are for compact discs.
