  1. I captured an old VCR tape to .AVI format. The volume of it is decent. I then encoded it to Mpeg II useing the software called Super. But the problem is, when I use Super to encode the AVI file, the volume is softer/lower than the volume of the originial .AVI file. I went into options of Super and raised the encoder volume to max(300) but it had no difference on volume the encoded Mpeg II file. I also went into the Windows volume control panel and maxed out the Line In and Stereo mixer volume levels, but it didn't make difference. Any suggestions?

are you converting to ac3 audio with super? then you might get lower audio volume level and I don't think the raise option will work for ac3.
