  1. I was watching an avi file in windows media player when the power went out. When I turned my system back on, after I saw the windows xp logo on my screen, nothing else would display. I tried turning it off and on a few times and it didn't fix it. So then I tried resetting the CMOS(removing the little battery and then putting it back. That fixed the display problem....but now my problem is that I can't get sound from the front speaker output or the headphone jack. I can plug up the front speakers into the rear speaker output and that does work so I know the speakers themselves haven't went bad. I updated my sound card drivers, still doesn't work.

    Soundcard: Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic
    Speakers: Boston 4.1 surround

Does my soundcard need to be replaced?

  2. I fixed the problem. I had to go into system setting(pressing F2 at startup) and turn off the integrated soundcard.
