what i want to know is how to view the vista build number on your desktop with the RTM (FINAL) build? what i mean is like with all the beta's when you installed them they showed the COMPLETE build number on the lower right of the desktop. the RTM (FINAL) build does not do this. is there a way to get it to show? cheers.

cheers. very close to what i want although i can see that much in system info or such. in want of the whole long build string. i do not have one of the beta's installed currently as i have the rtm installed so i can not show what i mean but by default with all the beta's and rc's it shows this LONG build number (extra info or such) on the desktop at the bottom right (if you have the task bar set to autohide/minimise.)
