Converting AVI to DVD with DVDsanta - jerky results!

Hi! I have downloaded and burnt DVD's very successfully with DVD shrink and Magic DVD, but am having trouble with AVI files. I downloaded 'Forbidden Planet' in AVI format and it plays perfectly in Windows Media Player. (When I right click the file - it says frame rate 23 frames per second, which doesn't sound like PAL or NTSC!)). However, when I convert and burn this AVI file with DVD santa, and ask for the DVD to be PAL, the end result has a little pause every couple of seconds. I have seen this effect before on copied DVD's. Apart from this, the result is perfect. I have converted the same AVI file to an NTSC DVD with DVD santa, with no jerky results, although it seems to clip the edges off the picture. Please help - I am running out of blank disks!!
