  1. My buddy gave me the Behind The Scenes of our project and its in DV Formate. Well, I can't improt it into any editing program. I get a error message stating that it's not a supported file type. Ok, thats great. Well, i though to myself that maybe I can convert it into a AVI. I searched google for possiable converting programs. What pisses me off the most is that, the programs that I download to convert this file do support DV. Well, it happens to be a bad day, beacuse when I import the file into the "Supported Convert Program", I'm getting the same error; "Not a supported File Type". So here I am, asking for you're guys help. what should I do now?

    thanks

Need more info - what format is it in? e.g., is it .MOV, .DV or some other?

Duron 300 MHz running XP? 256MB RAM?
That is going to be rough but possible.

Describe the DV file. Size? Run Length?

What editing software do you have? Movie Maker should open it. Be sure to upgrade to MM2. VLC might play it but your computer is very weak for this.

Quick Time plays the file. VLC which I already have, plays it.

The running time is 5mins and the file size is 1.2G

OK, so it appears to be a DV format file and VLC will play it on your machine. So what do you want to convert it into?

WMM2 can edit it and convert to wmv or back to DV.
Other programs exist to convert it into most other formats.
AVI is a container not a format. Are you talking about the DivX codec? XviD? Other?

So, is it a Quicktime .MOV file?
