I use Pinnacle to author DVDs and have now started using Nero to burn. For some reason, even with a DVD-R, the discs come out with a pause exactly half-way through as if layers are changing on a dual-layer DVD. Any idea how to get Pinnacle to stop doing this? I know it isn't Nero because I had this problem when burning with Pinnacle as well. And Pinnacle is recognizing that the media in the DVD drive is DVD-R and not DVD+DL. Any ideas?

Which version of Studio are you using?
I had this exact problem with v 9.2, and I was advised to upgrade to v 9.35, and that fixed it.
Studio was indeed putting in a "phantom" layer break, it was a bug in versions 9.1 and 9.2.
If you are using v 10, you might want to check the Pinnacle Studio web-board forum and see if there is a patch or work-around.grannyGeek ~~
