I would try one of two methods:

    1. AVISynth and virtualdub (any variant). All you would need is a script like:
    Code:
    DirectShowSource("C:\Path\To\yourfile.wmv")
Bear in mind that this will present the file to virtualdub as uncompressed so you will need to choose your codecs of choice for video and audio.

    2. If a high-quality WMV, open WMV in Windows Movie Maker and output to DV-AVI. Open in virtualdub (any variant). Bear in mind that DV-AVI is approx 13GB per hour so you will need a fair bit of disc space for this method.

Both these methods should work, but it depends on the quality of the source as to which is the "best" method to use.
    If in doubt, Google it.

The WMV doesn't have DRM, does it?
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?
