  1. I'm using Media Player Classic with ffdshow to play my avi video files and srt subtitles.
The subtitles show up perfect, but what I'd like to do is be able to toggle them on and off with my remote.
There are keys & remote settings in the ffdshow options, but the keyboard shortcuts never seem to work for me and I can't understand why.
All the appropriate check boxes are ticked, yet when i press S for Toggle Subtitles, nothing happens!

I use KMPlayer for that. Works fine with avi and srt subtitles.
I have programable buttons on my ATI remote, so I could toggle subtitles on and off, change a language if there are more subtitle languages (I use Croatian and English subtitles).
KMPlayer comes with its own codecs and subtitle support, so you do not need FFDShow at all.
Besides KMPlayer can show both subtitles at once (one at the bottom and one at the top of video). It could show up to 5 subtitles tracks at once!
