Hi,
I would like to know since ffdshow could play both XviD and DivX files, does that means that whatever that's included in individual installation of XviD and DivX are all already included in ffdshow?
When encoding files in XviD format, will I see a difference if I only have ffdshow installed instead of installing the original XviD? or can I install both ffdshow and XviD together/co-exist?
Thanks.

I have ffdshow, and the Divx and Xvids codecs installed and they can usually co-exist, depending on your ffdshow settings. Of course, I am using ffdshow for playback and the Divx and Xvid codecs for encoding.
Xvid and Divx codecs are very similar and fairly interchangeable for playback.
