How do you find out what profile a video has been encoded in?
I have some xvid videos and I would very much like to know if they are within simple profile or advance simple profile standards, or if they are in any other profile(s)
Is there a way to figure this out? What app should I use?

mpeg4modifier might be able to show you some of this as well

Gspot and mpeg4modifier both seem like useful apps but they do not tell me the information i need.

Yes they do. Resolution, frame types, bitrates, etc. Exactly what more were you after?
