  1. Hi everyone,

I hope you are all doing well. I have aa new problem! When I try to burn my VideoTS folder with Nero burning room DVD video I get something like dvd failed file reallocation error. I've download IMGTool, DVDlab, DVDstyler, Deep Burn and many others all give me the same error. Is there anything I can do to rectify this? Has anyone had this problem. I'm also curious how you burn vob and MPG files. Thanks a lot. This forum has been extremely helpful!

  2. there could be a file with zero size then it can not be burned. Remove it or ignore the error your dvd most likely works. Try it on dvd-rw to be sure.

You can see some Nero errors here: http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=45942 The file allocation error is near the bottom of the page. Probably one of your DVD files has an error. It sounds like you may be able to fix it with IfoEdit.

VOB files are part of the DVD format. If all you have are the VOBs, you would have to recreate the rest of the files in the VIDEO_TS folder required for a DVD. You should be able to do that with a authoring program.

For burning the VIDEO_TS folder, ImgBurn works well, but you can also use Nero or similar. If you have MPEGs and want to make a DVD, then you would have to author them to the DVD format. Or, if you just wanted to play them with a computer, you could burn them as data DVDs, with no formating.

You might take a look at 'WHAT IS' DVD to the upper left for the DVD format and specifications. <<<<<<
And there are lots of guides for all this, also to the left.

Usually Nero shows reallocation error if the size of VOBs (due to improperly developed authoring software used) is not multiple of 2048bytes (DVD sector size). In most cases it is safe to ignore this warning, however reauthoring with proper tool (e.g. TDA) would correct this. This is surely not a Nero bug.

  5. Hi everyone,

Thanks for all your replies. Well, here's what I've done. Maybe you can hel. me thee rest of the way? I burned the dvd with the file reallocation error, it didn't play, and the player didn't even recognize that it was a dvd disc. Next I reauthored all the ifo files with ifo edit, tried again, still no luck. The only thing that seems to work is to use TDA 1.6 and import the MPG files saved from Video Redo. But when they're being outputted, it says file write error. I don't have enough space on my drive and then I get the warning low disc space. But that's another story. Anyone know ehre to go from here? All your help is greatly appreciated. I looked at the Nero thread and did what it said, updated nero, still no luck. Thanks a lot for your help! it is appreciated!
