    Hi everybody Im from Mexico, so thats why i need to put subtitles to my movies... The problem is:
    When I activate the subtitles on my dvd player (LG DK 162) instead ó appears "y", instead of á appears a 6 and that happens with a lot of signs like ¿ and ¡...

    A friend told me that i need to do something with the firmware of my DVD player???

    Wht can I do to fix this problem????

    Are those original subtitles, or subtitles you added? I guess it's the latter, as subtitles are stored as pictures on the DVD. Then, what program are you using to create the subtitles you add to the DVD? Have you previewed them on the computer?
    Unless you're using a DivX/XviD capable DVD player, and are just storing some subtitle files together with AVI files...

    Anyway, it all goes down to what coding you're using on the (text) subtitle files, ANSI or Unicode. If you open the file in NotePad, you can save it again indicating which coding to use...

    Ok, thnks for the answer:

    1.-Yes, r added subs, I use Subtitle Workshop... The preview on mi computer is ok, everything runs fine... My DVD player is DivX so i dont know whts the problem here...

    How do i do that of the ANSI or Unicode??? I can see just ASCI code or something like that

    And finally, Do i have to upgrade the firmware???

    I don't know if this is going to help you, but you may give it a try.
    I had a similar problem with my divx standalone dvd player, which is also an LG (LH-T360SE). I couldn't read the greek subtitles, instead they appeared as funny characters. After reading very carefully the manual of the device I saw that keeping pressed the subtitle button for three seconds then I could change the character encoding and finally find the one that I could read OK.
