I have heard from users that it does but you may want to wait for confirmation from one of them on here first.

  3. I have VISTA Beta 2 running with .net installed. SVCD2DVD installed just fine, but when it comes to register and i press continue, the little box with my key disappears. Then i click on the svcd2dvd icon again brings up register box again. Same process over and over. Never verifies program, so i cant use it. Any ideas Chris? Or anyone?

svcd2dvd 2.1 (Build 2.1.2308) works on vista beta 2 build 5384 you must run as administrator to install and when you reg it you will need your old reg.xml to reg it if you try to reg without file it will error saying can not register program or something similar to that

I tried .Net v.2, with.Net 1.1, and adding 1.1SP1, before, but SVCD2DVD does not go through registration to usable. I tried Vista Beta 2 and found similar respects. Did someone say you can build a xml.reg?
Chris, I don't know how experienced you are about framework. Example, Java can be dissimilar in branches. .Net should have some focused branches to complete objects. I asked this before. Did you cross-branch some of your application?
The security on the beta is a real deal. They have not got recognition in the OS of OS Type. They have all things ... going on with users. They have a UAI that is prompting about every application. I found at least one site UAI. "Organize" features do not look finished. Microsoft OS Betas are always like this -- short of appeal.

PS. VOB2MPG works with Alta Vista. I started early to mess up the .NET. -- Always doing something wrong...

If you are interested in VISTA I am sharing this information about UAP (UAI?).

    Tweak User Account Protection
    Posted 12/22/2005 by Steve Sinchak
To cut down on malicious software applications and beginner computer users from changing critical computer settings, Microsoft has included a new feature called User Account Protection, primarily known as UAP. UAP is a great step in the right direction. It can be used to prevent a beginner computer user from making changes to their computer by restricting them from accessing or even saving any changes to critical areas. UAP is also helpful against Spyware and other malicious software because it will require the user to consent to the action, before any system changes are made.

UAP is a good feature but sometimes it is necessary to tweak it a little so that it is less annoying for more experienced users. For example, an advanced user may be overwhelmed by the number of pop up authorization they receive. By tweaking the settings they can reduce the number of those they see as well as completely disable UAP. Although I do not recommend you completely disable UAP, you can fine tune it to be easier to get along with.

    1. To get started, open up the Local Security Settings MMC to show the local security policies by running secpol.msc.

    2. Navigate through Local Policies and Security Options.

    3. Scroll through the list on the right of the various security settings until your reach the User Account Protection settings. Refer to the list below of the various settings, to change them, just right click and select Modify.

User Account Protection: Behavior of the elevation prompt for administrators
    No Prompt
    Prompt for credentials
    Prompt for consent
User Account Protection: Behavior of the elevation prompt for standard users
    No Prompt
    Prompt for credentials
User Account Protection: Elevate on application installs
    Enable
    Disable
User Account Protection: Run all users, including administrators, as standard users
    Enable
    Disable
User Account Protection: Virtualize file and registry write failures to per-user locations
    Enable
    Disable
If you want to completely disable UAP, Select No Prompt or Disable for all of the settings.

*** Read that NET has security. Could you include some here if applicable?

It worked fine on RC1, but on RC2 I just get a .Net error:

"Unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application"

Installing .NET 1.1 doesn't seem to help.

For the version of SVCD2DVD availiable on the website you need .Net 1.1 and then you need the SP1 to the framework too.

If you would like to try the .Net 2 build of S2D then drop me an email...
