you can get tscv....the gui for vcdimager (similar to vcdeasy)
all you do is this:
1. menu tab: click on cd icon, click add mpg on bottom.
2. double click on mpg just added (this will take you to the chapters tab)
3. Chapters tab: scroll through the movie using the scroll bar at the bottom...(the movie should preview in window)
4. when the still you want appears, click copy the displayed movie frame to MSpaint, or clipboard, whatever you prefer...
thats it, youll either have it open in mspaint as a bmp, or you will have it on your clipboard
lemme know

If you want a virtualdub method, Open the clip in VirtualDub.
Move the slider to the frame you want as still.
Select Video -> Copy Source Frame to clipboard.
Open MSPaint or your favorite Photoeditor program and Paste as a new image. -
If you have the latest version of WinDVD (3.0 or 3.1) it has a frame capture that writes to a bitmap (.bmp) file. The image file will have the same size needed for your video.
Otherwise the editing tools described above will give you more options. -
The free Maximus DVD player listed in the tools section will capture a frame from the DVD.
