I need an I/O shield for this configuration:

This is an Intel D850GB motherboard.

Does anybody know where to get one?
Or maybe you have an extra one that I could somehow get?

The simplest place to get one of these would be a local pc repair shop , they might be able to help .

Other than that , they are easy enough to make with the right material's on hand .

I made one from 2mm aluminium sheeting once before ... time consuming , but faster than having to locate a replacement and waiting for it to arrive .

  3. I have bought them from ebay in the past, when I have bought second hand motherboards that did not come with the shield.

I temporarily made one from cardboard and electrical tape. I'll be looking locally in the meantime. Did not see anything online.

This Intel configuration is not your typical ATX shield.

Surprisingly I may have one. I just threw a whole bunch out a week ago. PM me and I'll check tonite for sure. Though the one I have may have 2 open serial ports instead of just the 1 shown.

Contact the manufacturer. I damaged one once and couldn't attach it to the case anymore and just called Iwill up and got a new one sent to me for free. Tyan did the same thing when I bought the board without an IO shield. The latter only charged me a couple dollars for postage. If it's an Intel branded board then I'm sure there's a way to get a new one from them.

I don't care about computers on the desk myself, but this one happens to be on the floor, in the corner, and I want to make sure any little bug that gets curious cannot find an easy way in.

I found the plate, but 1 problem. the audio is one space closer because there is not LAN port on the one I have. DAMMIT! I have others, but I gotta look. Let you know when I see one. I always seem to save them, but never know why.

Unfortunately, finding people who are selling these are rare. However, I may still have the one with 2 serial ports (or 1 serial & 1 VGA, but same thing for the panel). I'll have to check to make sure as I may have thrown it out already. Also try thrift stores like (Salvation Army, Savers, Goodwill, Deseret Industries, Volunteers of America, etc.) to see if they have older PCs that you can purchase for little cost. Maybe even Pawn shops. OR go to a PC recycling store if there's one in your neighborhood. Friendly Computers is in many cities and there are a few others I can't think of off hand.
