rip a dvd mivie using DVD FAB Decrypter and then burned blank DVD with Nero 6. Played back movie with DVD player connected to plasma tv and several times video froze for a second and then continued on. Did it 4 or 5 times during movie. I am using good brand of blank DVD, verbatim and player a good one. Why is this happening. Is there a better way to burn DVD's using alternate software. Thanks

  2. It sounds more like "inexpensive" discs. There are other methods of burning, like imgburn, but if it still freezes, then you have bad discs.
Believing yourself to be secure only takes one cracker to dispel your belief.

  3. try slowing down the burning speed to 4x or even 2x.
    Sometimes that works for me.

    Ciao
    Just my 2 cents.

Are you using the latest DVDFabDecrypter?

Are you sure you are not compressing the movie to fit on a DVD. Sometimes the parameters on the disk lead to too fast tranfer of a compressed image? Sometimes FixVTS will correct these and you can burn without the problem.

I am using the Verbatim movie reel DVD disks. Accordingly to what I hear they are good DVD disks. I am burning at 2x speed.

Burn at the rated media speed, unless it is 16x, then burn no faster than 12x. For whatever reason a lot of burners don't like 16x media burning at 16x. There is no reason to burn at 2x at all, this causes more problems than burning too fast. 8x seems to be good for almost all media, from 4x media to 16x. The difference it time is only like 4 min. so big deal.
As far as Fixvts goes, run it on the files on the HD.
If this doesn't work, try ripit4me, it's free and the full install includes DvdDecrypter, DVDShrink and Fixvts together. Works great.

No mention of title involved ... but

Try pgcedit with the new plugins for pls2 to rip dvd and remove these problems if they exist , save after pgcedit has finished .

If the other supporting tools have been installed , you can shrink and burn as well .

Remember some dics employ new tricks to prevent perfect copies being made .

Up the creek is a good one ... do they screw it up .

    -----------------------------

Watch media ... Use - , not + for cross the board compatability for all players .

Burning at 2x is way slow .
Burning at 4x has been the golden mark for along time .
Burning at 6x and above = you dont care if it's there next year or not .

4x provides sufficient fixation for data to media storage , and in many test's on various brand's has proven to be a stable mark to stick with .

Only idiots burn at 8x and above ...

Bitset your +R to DVD-Rom and there are no compatibility problems. I've done 100's and lent them out to dozens of people without a single compatibilty problem.
Only idiots make statements like the last one. This may have been true 2 yrs. ago (like your -R comment) but not now. 8x is the new 4x, I have had more consistently good burns at 8x than any other and I do a disc quality scan on every single disc I burn.
