    I知 only interested in doing conversions from HDTV .tp/.ts files to DVD. I知 more interested in the sound AC3 quality be untouched, then picture quality. With that info, what would I gain by moving/upgrading to SVCD2DVD when I知 now using HDTV2DVD? I see that the new version just released up弾d the bit-rate to 9M from 7.8M, what else would I gain from using SVCD2DVD instead of HDTV2DVD?

    Depends on what you are doing.... If you are putting a 2 hour movie onto DVDR then you will only see the bitrate benefit. If you are putting an episode of CSI from HDTV to DVD then with SVCD2DVD you can put 2 on there (with or without a menu)... maintaining the high quality you have already seen...
    SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

    Does that mean HDTV2DVD can only put 1 episode on a DVD and SVCD2DVD can put 2 or more (as long as ther fit within reason)?

    Also, what does HDTV2DVD do to the audio (AC3)? does it pass it through to the new encoded file or does it do something to it?

    thymej,

    HDTV2DVD works great for me converting .ts files to DVD. It leaves AC3 audio untouched.
