I'm running a 1.42 GHz Power PC G4 with 1.5GB of RAM.
For some reason MPEG Streamclip is giving me a strange jittery effect when I cut cilps out of an xvid or divx avi. Here is a sample or the effect:

The first few seconds of the video are jittery then it goes back to normal. Anybody know what the problem is? Since I can watch the videos in MPEG Streamclip I believe I have all the components installed. D-Vision gives me green artifacts at the beginning of a video then it goes back to normal.

Hi,
An other option is to try with SimpleMovieX.
It is still in beta but works 99% of the time cutting avi.

Note that I'm the developer of this app.

@ AeroQ:
I like your interface, however, how can this be a Quicktime Pro
replacement, if the QT MPEG component is still needed?
And the price is comparable to cost of QT Pro?
I get the "buy once, never pay again" statement, which
you know as well as I know, will never be in stone.
(The first round of [insert illegal pirating activity here]
will kill that VERY QUICKLY).
Just general questions I have.
Quicktime 8 will probably shake up ALOT of third party
developers when it changes it's Architecture."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."

When I'm not here, Where can I be found?

Hi,
Regarding SimpleMovieX, QT MPEG component is still needed mainly because MPEG-2 licensing is very strict. I have developed my own MPEG-2 component but cannot distribute it unless I want to go to jail and ruin my family. Licensing an MPEG-2 component is not easy for the little guys like me.
The price is comparable to cost of QT Pro: Today everything should be free or what ? 24$: Do you know how fast this money gets spend my my 2-years old daughter ?
"I get the "buy once, never pay again" statement" : I will always respect it. It means that if a new version of QuickTime framework brings new codecs and features, SimpleMovieX will leverage it for free (unlike Apple which requires shelling out 30$ again every 2 years).
This does not mean that you get future major release for SimpleMovieX for free.
"Quicktime 8 will probably shake up ALOT of third party
developers when it changes it's Architecture." .... I'm getting ready, this will my a switch opportunity for me!
Thanks for your comment, I like genuine challenging feedback.

So far, I haven't had that problem with Explicit.
I try to avoid D-Vision and Explicit because I have to split a movie 4 or 5 times to pull out a 1 minute clip and it takes 15 to 20 minutes longer. I like MPEG Streamclip because you can select in and out points. -
1/ Did you make your cut on a keyframe ?
2/ Check with D-Vision if the fourCC code of the MPEGStreamclip output file is the same as your input video.Jean-Philippe Schuck

I've started making cuts on keyframes and seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks for the help.
