I have a SS2 DVB-S card installed on my PC.
I am running ALT-DVB (also used Progdvb) to make my capture my Sat programs.
Software is running fine, however, I am unable to make the picture appear on my monitor.
    The video panel stays black.
Strangly enough I can see the picture via my TV, for which I use my S-video connection. So, the card is working perfectly. I have tried all kind of different graph settings in my sat software program. The result is the same. No picture on my monitor but a picture on my TV.

Can some help with in solving this issue?

I am running XP Prof SP2 on a 2.8 GHZ Intel Dual Processor with RAM 1024 MB.
On my previous PC I never had this problem!

    Many thanks in advance.

Sounds like a graphic card overlay issue, have you tried you changed the monitor to the "primary" monitor? or turn off hardware acceleration.

    Does other video work fine?

and I'm moving you to our dvb forum section.

You may try to do the following:

    1. Download and install the latest drivers for your Video Card
    2. Make sure DirectX is installed, or install it
    3. Download and install the nvidia mpeg codecs

There is a configuration option in ProgDVB for video, go there and select the nvidia tv/audio decoder.

I've tried using both Prog DVB & ALT-DVB, they seem to be quite a bit of a pain to setup. I've successfully used RitzDVB & DVB Dream, they both work pretty well, but I prefer DVB Dream.

The problem with DVB Dream and ProgDVB is the epg guide, it sucks. I too use RitzDVB, but I have a Hardware mpeg decoder/encoder card.

I was using RitzDVB previously, but it wasnt allowing me to use more than one sat per install. So if I wanted to watch a channel on a different sat I had to close my current instance of RitzDVB and open a different one that had that channel from that sat.

The only limitation, like you said, for DVB Dream is the EPG, but that's not such a big deal to me.

I have RitzDVB configured for two satellites, you can edit the .ini file of each sat, or use the scan/Option menu to do it.

By the way, my switch is a Diseqc 1.0.
