it says some necessaary QT software is missing. to checik on the web.

when I look in the movie info window I get this:

    Format , 576 x 432, Unknown

so did some of the compoments get corrupted? is on 10.4.7 on Intel

anyideas on how to fix this?

I downloaded the QT 7.1.2 and reloaded it and restarted it, but that did nothing.
I did a disk first aid and repaierd the disk and it said I had minor header problems that it fixed

QT is the key item for me, and I was justa bout to get the QTPro as I had that with 10.3.8 and QT6

everything was going to smoooothy too up to thisw point!

  2. Which codecs are used in the files that no longer open ? Use MPEG Streamclip to find this out if QT is refusing to identify them.

As it's Apple software you're having difficulties with, it may actually be worth repairing permissions.
