Hello everyone...

I just started using TMPGEnc not more than a week ago and I'm using it to make XVCDs but I just have a lot of questions that I can't find the answer to. Please help me everyone, for it's driving me crazy.

I encode the final resolution at 720x480 because that is what I understand DVD resolution to be. But when I do that, the edges get cut off. So I still do 720x480 but under the advanced tab, I center with a custom resolution 640xwhatever to get it to all fit. In all the examples and tutorials I've seen, nobody seems to need to do this. Even when I rip from a DVD and the file is something like 720x360, if I don't cutom fit it at 640xwhatever, it gets cut off or is off center or whatever... I can't figure it out... Is there a better way?

Secondly, I want to use toolame (and maybe ssrc) because the audio always seems to suck. So I go up environmental settings, external tools and choose both utilities. But after I select them it always says "toolame.exe cannot be used as external.. whatever". It says that with ssrc. I look at all the tutorials and notes and nobody seems to mention anything relating to the trouble I'm having. What am I doing wrong?
