when i open the avi in tmpge it is at 15fps (internally 30) but when i save it to mpg i want 30fps. now if i do this and save it at 30, when i burn the vcd will it play at the normal 30fps speed? cause i burned it once and it was choppy.

If you are NTSC then 23.976 would be a better choice than 30 fps. 15fps WILL appear choppy if you increase framerate.
But 23.976 will give adequate playback on a DVD player (If compatible)
Just did this with Thundercats

so if i have a avi that opens at 15fps in tmpgenc it would be good to encode at 23 for the mpg?

ok i opened a few more avi clips and some are at 29fps and some are at 15,14,60. now when i go to encode to mpg how am i to know the best way to encode. and at which framerate? i mean if i open a avi that says
MPEG-1 352x240 15fps CBR 1150kbps, Layer-2 44100Hz 192kbps
in the setting areas in tmpgenc and try to encode for 30fps on mpg is that going to screw it up?
