    is there a program out there that will allow me to EDIT the MP4 files that are already on my PSP memory card. such as chopping frames of etc etc. im a real newbie when it comes to editing and have been told avisynth could do it, but the program isnt very newbie friendly

    Have you tried virtualdub? It can handle a ton of inputs don't know about the newer compressed formats though.

    You should look into SUPER. I haven't used it personally but its been recommended a lot for working on portable video files. Check the tools section on the left for more choices.
