Hi all, very new person here, does anyone know why the .avi files i have converted and burnt to DVD using avi2dvd are in black and white and not colour? the .avi are colour prior to converting, i am using Nero 6 to burn to DVD.
    Thanks in advance,
    Luke.

Hmm... You say you're in the UK? My first guess would be its a ntsc video clip and you're playing back in pal. Shouldn't be a problem normally but it could be. Did you set pal as your output in avi2dvd?

    Hi Yoda 313,
I am in the Uk yes, and after reading what you said i checked and i hadent ticked the ntsc to pal box, so i ticked it and converted the file, the only problem i have now is the 40 minute clip is now 4.8GB in size rather then the black and white 1.8-2GB sizes i had before and is too big to put on a DVD so i cannot confirm if this had fixed the problem or has even converted properly, i have read elsewhere about something called DVD shrink 3.2 is this something that could help me or is there a simpler solution in avi2vd?
Thanks for your time on this.

Dvd shrink takes an already authored dvd and shrinks it down to single layer size. EDIT - yes assuming you have authored the mpeg file into a video_ts folder you can use dvd shrink to compress it to fit a single layer dvd.

There are other avi to mpg converters available. divxtodvd is one. Check the tools link on the left.
