This stuff is garbage.
While the Taiwanese DAXON may be good, and is supposedly the plant that makes SONY Taiwan media too, the stuff from Malaysia is pure crap. I've not seen media this bad in probably 1-2 years now. I've long heard it was no good, but I finally saw it first-hand. Regardless of burner or recorder, regardless of firmware, these discs are worthless trash.
I mean, seriously, this is horrible. No exaggeration.
Currently sold under the BenQ name brand at Meritline.

Thanks for the heads up Lordsmurf. The really sad thing is based on your statements of how REALLY BAD this stuff is - I almost want to go buy some just to see how bad.
Are we talking UME or AML category or worse? -
UME and AML is still better. It's along the lines of WFKA DVD-R media or Inforsmart ISO001 DVD+R. Just awful crap. Burn problems visible in the dye, streaks in the dye, 80% coasters, etc. Just horrible. Not a single disc would burn correctly in any of 5 updated burners with the DAXONAZ2 code. The dye on these are not much different than snot as far as I'm concerned.
