Ok I've searched and searched and found very little info on my problem, and not a single topic on these forums.

Basically, Premiere Pro 2.0 doesn't launch on my 32bit Business Vista... No error message, just the splash screen and then it shuts down. I've tried running it in compatibility mode and it's still the same. I have the latest ffdshow, latest video drivers... I don't know what else to do ;(

    Any help appreciated.

That might be the problem. Next time you try to launch Premiere, pay very close attention to the text that it displays in the splash screen as it loads each module. I can't remember the exact name, but if it disappears at "Loading Vfw<something>", it's likely because of problems between Premiere and your installed VfW codecs.

We sell a DV decoder that comes in both Vfw and DirectShow flavors. With the VfW version installed, Premiere (1.5 and Elements) would behave the way you described. The problem lies in Adobe's software. It doesn't honor the information that comes back to it when querying codecs about their capabilities. This has existed for years - at least as far back as Premiere 4.0. We had to rewrite some of our code to accommodate Premiere's broken code....

The simple test for this theory is to uninstall ffdshow and see if Premiere launches successfully.
My understanding is that Premiere Pro 2.0 does run on Vista.

    It just says:

    v2.0
    Windows NT6.0, Single Processor detected
    Initializing Application...

And then shuts down, no clue there. Is there a crash log or something like that ?
