  1. Hi

I am trying to put an MPEG into TMPGEnc to burn onto DVD, it comes up with the following error message,

'*The video resolution 320x240 cannot be used for a standard DVD.

The video resolution 320x240 cannot be used for a standard DVD.
For a standard DVD you can only use the following resolutions:

    352x240 352x480 704x480 720x480 pixels (NTSC format only)
    352x288 352x576 704x576 720x576 pixels (PAL format only)'

*The video framerate 25 fps cannot be used with the resolution 320x240
The video framerate 25 fps cannot be used with the resolution 320x240
This framerate can only be used with the following resolutions:

    352x240 352x480 704x480 720x480 pixels (NTSC format only)
    .

Can anyone give me any clues how to get around this ???

    Cheers
    Mike

Re-encode your video to DVD spec. Tmpgenc has told you what is allowed, however if you want to read it in a different format, try What is DVD - top left corner of this page.

Yet another reason to stay clear of WinAVI - Any application outputing VOBs with 320x240 res video should be returned. Change the heading from "TMPGEnc error" to "WinAVI error"!

Depends on what you start with. There's a lot of guides on how to convert almost any format to DVD if you take a look under CONVERT left, and use the excellent format conversion selector.

320x240....is this for a portable device? I downloaded and installed Super to do the conversion for me. So far it has converted xvid and vob to h.264 format. Looks and sounds fine on my ipod screen, although it is tiny. Better for tv shows than for full length movies.
Did I mention I bought an ipod yesterday?
