  1. I used this cool software recently and it worked great. Now, When I want to convert vob,s, the process takes 00:00:01 seconds and of course no files are written/converted. The vob,s are ripped from dvd decrypter in file mode.
    Thanks for any help

  2. I should add that I will pay for a full version if available, if I can figure out what I am doing wrong. Perhaps the free version is only good for so many uses?

First off, thanks for the work on this tool. Once the kinks are worked out it will be invaluable to me for ripping XBOX360 compatible movies. I too am having a similar problem. I am reauthoring and ripping the DVD with DVDShrink 3.2 to the HDD. In this particular DVD there are 4 episodes of a tv show listed unter extras. I am dragging them over when I reauthor to create a what should be 4 vobsets. Here is the log:

Well I got it to work.

    Originally the VOBSETS were here
    D:\Media\Video\TV\21 Jump Street\Season 2\Disc 1\VIDEO_TS

And the output folder was here
    D:\Media\Video

    And that did not work.

When I changed the output folder to
    D:\Media\Video\Temp
    or
    C:\
    Then everything worked.

It seems as though the output folder cannot be contianed within the VOBSET path. I am not really sure why that is.

    I hope that helps.

    Stranger Still

    VOBSET Path
    D:\Media\Video\TV\21 Jump Street\Season 2\Disc 1\VIDEO_TS

    Output Path
    D:\Media\Video

    Did not work. 0 VOBSETS.

    However output path
    D:\Media\Video\TV

    does work. The first time.

The second time both paths worked. And now I cannot get it to fail again. I have tried several different output paths all contained within the VOBSET path. So I guess if you can't reproduce a bug it doesn't exist. If there is something else you would like me to test please let me know.

Again thank you for the quick response.

  12. I'm having the same problem. After reading this post I tried changing folders and it worked. But I still have a question: Do the vob's have to have BUP and IFO files with them for the software to work? Because it worked when I put on the folder all the files from a DVD (already decrypted), but when I try with some vobs that I downloaded with Dolby and THX animations, they don't get converted to MPG, I get the message: Finished processing 0 vobsets.

Here's the log for the time that it DIDN'T work. Thanks for the help!

  15. Chrissyboy -- if you have ver 2.1 available still I wouldnt mind a link. That was the last version that worked 90% of the time.

    Thanks.

  16. I've had this problem with v2.3, too - just started happening out of the blue, really.

This is on rips I've processed using the new ripit4me.

I've tried the subsequent versions posted in this thread, too (ie v2.4 and the other later build).

    Still won't work now.

mrloofer: Can you email me a 5 or 10MB sample of E:\Movies\billy_connolly\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB? You can use the attached to create the sample. I will see what is going on.

Dear Chrissyboy, THANKS FOR YOUR GREAT TOOL (so far),

I am new here. I have been looking for a programme like Vob2Mpg for ages.

I am planning to transfer all of my VHS videos to DVD.
After writing the MPGs on DVD they are VOB files.
As I don't want to keep 2 DVDs for each film (one with the MPGs and one with the VOBs playable in any DVD-Player)
I am looking for a programm which allows the extraction of the 'VOB'-DVDs without any losses/changes in quality of video&audio.
The information of the video/audio stream should not be changed in any way except for the fact that the outcome is then an MPG-File
which can be cut in tools like e.g. Ulead Video Studio.

    Questions/Problems:
    1. Am I right that this is what your programme is meant to be doing???

    2. When I start your programme it stops after 3 seconds. If I start it again it works properly. (Is this normal?)

    3. I created a DVD with 2 MPG files on it (using Ulead Movie Maker). Vob2Mpg makes 1 long file out of the two.
That's just fine, but when I look exactly at the seconds where the two videos are linked I can see blocks in the part of the beginning of the second video.
This prevents me from using your great software as a real alternative to writing 2 DVDs for each recording (see above).

    4. If I compare the sizes of the two files together and the one long file created with Vob2Mpg I can see a little difference in size.
Striktly speaking the size should be completely equal if there is no videotransform done by your programm or is this a false assumption?

I am trying to improve your the functionality of your excellent programme.
(I don't like programmes like Nero because the always recalculate (and therefore change) the streams.)

    Hope you can help.
