many gif animators can import video. google search for avi to gif.

and I think the free converter SUPER supports video to gif conversion.

    Hi,
first there basically 2 kinds of gif... one is your standard still graphic picture.. and the other, what your referring to is called "animated gif's"

and just like your movie clips the animated clips are made of several frams that run fast... remember those old cartoon flip books?? smile... where youhave apicture on each page and you flips thru them and they appear to move... the same idea!!.....
People will create each frame and then they import those frames into a animated creator type program that will combine all the frames into one file and voila a animated gif...!!

my self I create very few.. but what i generally what i do is modify a animated gif to fit my needs..... and that where i use a creator program to do the edit...

now these creator programs some have a lot of abilities some very little, however you can convert let say a avi file into a animated gif!!... i have done that a few times..... but you have to cut out a lot of frames.. because the gif file becomes too large...lol...!!

if you want to take a closer look at how things done and such..... and maybe even makes some simple animated banners... quite easy, suggest download GIFCON from http://www.mindworkshop.com/alchemy/alchemy.html , it not the best but pretty good, userfriendly, and there help section is pretty good.... for a tutorial... it's shareware but what you donwload is the full version and there no limitation on features...!! unlike your demos and such......!!

final thoughts... it come in real hand if you make your own animated e-greeting cards, or put in your edited videos and such....... have a lot of fun with that
