  1. i thought that cd are in mpeg-1 format but it was in .DAT format
    also DVD not in MPEG-2 format but in .VOB format

    i mean how can i burn .XviD and WMV AND RM files on vcd or dvd
    thx in advance

    AND
    in what quality my file should be that after change to mpeg-1 1.1 mbps
    i can get good quality
    is 15000 mbps enough for this

    AND
    is there a quality or size different between two .mpeg-2 and .vob file(bothe in 9.5 mbps and 720*572


    please answer to my three questions

    isobuster can get the mpg from a dat file.

    dat is a storage container file type as is vob. MPEG 1 is the video format for vcd and mpeg 2 is the video format for dvd.

    15000 mbp is above the dvd standard.

    Again vob is the container for mpeg2 files to make a dvd.

  3. thx but i mean when i buy a vcd from outside the quality is really good but when i try to capture mpeg-1 the quality becomes bad.why?
    and can i burn XVID on dvd or vcd like mpeg?

    Professional dvds would use a higher quality source.

    You can burn a xvid as a plain data file but you will need a divx compatible dvd player to read it. Otherwise you will have to convert the xvid to mpeg2 and author a dvd.

    VCD's are generally down-converted from DVD's thus they have good quality visually, at least on regular TV.

    See the tools section for AVI -> VCD/DVD converters (it's skipping a few steps, but there are tools that do that)
