    In backing up a PAL DVD to NTSC using VOB2MPG AND SVCD2DVD, how does one go about keeping the original subtitles?

    I thoery you should not have to do anything special - have you tried it? Does it not work?
    SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.
    VOB2MPG PRO, Extract mpegs from your DVDs - with you in control!

    Actually I did try it and it did not work, video and sound are OK but no subs. Maybe I skipped a step? I used VOB2MPG to get the VTS mpg files and imported them as assets into SVCD2DVD, then I ran quickdvd.
    Now, when you run VOB2MPG does the resulting mpg file include the subtitles, or do you need to rip the subtitle stream separately?
    THANKS

    The DVD's I created with sub, I have to manually rip the subs. As far I know, the MPEG does not contain subs.
