  1. I have a large collection of various .WMV files that are different clips, lots of different sizes, probabl various frame rates.

What would be the easiest way to:

Convert all the videos to 704x480, 29.97 VOBs. Keeping the aspect ratio correct AND adding padding for a TV-safe area. Then concatentate (add) them all together into one clip with a chapter boundary set at the end of each clip.

Is there a batch conversion program that will handle multiple resolutions and A/R's and output a file with all the same dimensions, the same framerate, and WITH a TV-safe area?

Most, if not all, of the clips are 640x480 or lower..... VCD resolution mostly.

CLI program would be fine as long as I can control it the way I want it....

If I cannot get a better solution, I will simple resize everthing to 704x480 with tv-safe area, ignoring aspect ratios. Not an ideal situation, but better than one-by-one.....

I am very rudimentary at avisynth scripting, but I would guess I could do the resizing with bars, etc. by formulas?

you could try SUPER for this ..... doesnt do the tv safe though unless you do it in two steps ...

procoder will also work - but not free
